Open Door Adventure was established in 1992 as an Outdoor Pursuits & Activity Centre and has been run by Dave Orange since day one. This was after a long and distinguished career in the services as a professional Outdoor Pursuits Instructor & Physical Education Teacher (R.A.P.T.C.). Moreover, the surrounding natural environment of North Wales pleases anyone without any doubt.
We offer sports excitement for youth and even design team building programmes for various corporate groups. Our Trainee Outdoor Pursuits Instructor Courses nurture young minds with various experimental learning that enhances skills and overall development. Even the group activities help individuals to understand team roles and help them work as a team for overall management.
There are sixteen Outdoor pursuits on our 25 Acre site. You don’t have to travel anywhere to take part in these activities. The programs are planned accordingly to help you develop new skills that can be a life changing experience. We also take great pride in being the perfect host and to offer greetings each time you think of visiting us. Even the designing courses meet your expectations, aims & objectives. We strive to provide a fun, effective and rewarding learning experience which you can adapt easily. So, if you haven’t visited us yet, you haven’t experienced thrills of life.

Dave has a broad wealth of teaching experience and has participated in 35 world-wide expeditions including 10 trips to the Himalayas, he reached 8,000 Mts without oxygen on Mt Everest. He is a technical adviser in outdoor pursuits to organisers of D. of .E. Prince’s Trust, N.C.S. Colleges, Industry & Business. Dave’s philosophy is to provide the best course possible for each individual, irrespective of age, gender, colour or background, with safety, enjoyment and learning as his key priorities. All the staff have been carefully selected and trained not only in outdoor pursuits but in teaching, people skills, team building and they have an infectious enthusiasm to pass on their experience and professionalism. All staff have completed a six month outdoor Pursuit Instructor Course and Gained National Governing Body Qualifications with Open Door Adventure.
We take all reasonable steps to manage our operations so as to minimize our environmental impact and to promote good environmental practice. we will set and follow high standards in food production, quality of service and Safety. we will review regularly our business practices and performance to identify how we can improve our energy efficiency, minimize packaging and reduce water usage, waste disposal and air emissions.
We are all passionate about the wonderful countryside we have here in North Wales the wildlife here is fantastic and we strive to protect the wild life and work with the environmental agency, CCW. The location is a Triple S.S.I. site, Site of Specific Scientific Interest due to the 200Ft Limestone Cliff Face and two cave systems. On site we see on a daily bases Kingfishers,, Heron, Jays, Pheasants, Buzzards , Peregrine Falcon, Badgers ,Otters, Mink, Grey Squirrels, wild Sitka Deer, Bats in our cave.
